It's official - Paul Crake, the human dynamo
from our national capital Canberra, is the world's fastest
vertical runner. Australia's Own Paul Crake has beaten 75
international competitors across the finishing line on the 91st
floor of the Taipei 101(the world's tallest building) to win the
Run-Up Race in Taipei, Taiwan November 20, 2005 climbing 2046
stairs to a height of 390m. Incredibly, Paul then returned down
under on December 1 & powered up the Q1 at Surfers
Paradise, the tallest residential building in the southern
hemisphere, in 7min 52sec. Paul is also now famous for conquering
the New York Empire State stair race 5 consecutive
times! |

Run in New York, he not only broke his own record time, but also
absolutely blitzed the field to take his position as the undisputed
king of the stair race.
